Southam Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee

Southam Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee

In 2016 a group of Southam residents formed a steering committee to develop a Neighbourhood Plan that will shape Southam’s future.  Once approved by local councils and residents, The Plan will be a legal document that developers must take notice of when drawing up any plans for building in our local area.

Getting involved in producing a Neighbourhood Plan is a way to ensure that developments meet our needs, houses are affordable and people want to live in them.  It’s not just about houses, however, it’s also about protecting our community, maintaining and enhancing the environment and ensuring the supporting infrastructure is suitable.

Southam Town Council is supportive of the Committee and has awarded a grant to get it established, and will provide future assistance.  A Government Grant is also available for professional assistance when needed.  The Steering Committee was established in the summer of 2016 and has started to analyse the responses from recent consultations and to work on a Vision for Southam.

Volunteers are sought to get involved in workshops, groups and discussions about the future for Southam.  A contact form is available on our website.
