Southam is located in the rural heart of England. It is close to Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Kenilworth and Rugby. The closest cities are Coventry and Birmingham.

By Road

Directions from the M40

Leave the M40 at Junction 12, taking the B4451 (signposted Bishop’s Itchington.) At the T junction, turn right (signposted Deppers Bridge, Southam B4451). Follow this road to roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A425. Turn right into Warwick Road. This will bring you into Southam town centre.

Directions from M1 North

Leave the M1 at Junction 17, joining the M45 to Dunchurch. At the M45/A45 roundabout, take the B4429 to Dunchurch. In Dunchurch, turn right at the crossroads on the A426 to Southam.  On reaching the roundabout, take the second exit on the Coventry Road. This will lead you down into Southam’s town centre.

From M1 South

Leave the M1 at Junction 16, taking the A45 towards Daventry for 14 miles. At the roundabout, take the first left onto the A425 to Southam for 15 miles. At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Daventry Road, Continue forward onto Daventry Street. This will lead you to Southam High Street.

By Bus

Southam is well connected with Stagecoach providing bus routes 63, 64, 65 and 66 to the local towns of Banbury, Daventry, Leamington Spa and Rugby. For timetables go to Stagecoach.

Catteralls Coaches also provide a weekly Thursday coach service from Southam to Banbury Market taking in the local villages on route.

By Rail

The nearest railway station to Southam is Royal Leamington Spa (Old Warwick Road, Leamington Spa, CV31 3NS.) There is a direct line from London Marylebone to Royal Leamington Spa and a taxi will take approximately 15 minutes from the station to Southam.

There are also railway stations at Warwick Parkway, Rugby, Coventry and Banbury. Rugby and Coventry stations on the London Euston line are within 25 minutes of Southam.

By Air

Southam is well situated for air travel as an international airport is located at nearby Birmingham, whilst there is a national airport at Coventry. Both Birmingham and Coventry Airports are within half an hour’s drive.

All public car parking in Southam is free of charge.  The main public parking areas in Southam are the Wood Street Car Park and Market Hill. There is also plenty of on-street parking on Coventry Street and High Street.

Disabled parking bays are available at Wood Street Car Park, on Market Hill, in High Street and in Coventry Street.

Visitor Information is available at Tithe Place, Southam’s Community Hub on the High Street. Expert local advice is available from the Tithe Place Library staff and there is soon to be a full display of local maps, guides and leaflets. The Library’s computer suite is available for you to use to research the area whilst you are here. The Community Hub has free Wi-Fi, a café/restaurant and public toilets.

Parking

All on- and off-street parking in Southam is free of charge. Disabled parking bays are located in Wood Street Car Park, on Market Hill, in High Street and in Coventry Street. Three hours free parking is allowed on double or single yellow lines providing clock and disabled sticker are displayed and that an obstruction is not caused.

Disabled Toilets

These are available at Wood Street Car Park and in Tithe Place (Library).
A Radar Key is required to access the Wood Street disabled toilet.
Alternative disabled facilities are available at the Graham Adams Centre, Southam Leisure Centre, Grange Hall, Tesco’s and Southam Gateway Community Church.

Radar Keys

Radar Keys are required to access Wood Street Toilets and the Holy Well path.
These are available to buy online and from all Shopmobility centres (see below) and Stratford-on-Avon District Council offices in Church Street, Stratford.

The Holy Well

A Radar Key is needed for wheelchair access to the Holy Well footpath from Wattons Lane (see above).
