Southam Town & Area Promotions Group (STAP)

Southam Town & Area Promotions Group (STAP)
A group of local volunteers aiming to promote the Southam area to the wider district

This group was formed in 2015 following an initiative by Stratford District Council’s Business, Enterprise and Tourism officer, with the aim of promoting the town and surrounding rural villages and attractions to a much wider audience.   The group was successful in securing some start-up funding from Warwickshire County Council to support its promotional activities.

The STAP team are a sub-group of Southam First, which provides the group with administrative and communications support.

An initial aim of the STAP group was to create an up to date internet presence for the Southam area, providing a platform for businesses and community groups to promote their activities and services.  This website is the result, and it offers free listings for all local groups and businesses within an approximate 10 mile radius of Southam (excluding the urban areas of Leamington Spa, Warwick, Daventry, Rugby).  The website is now an important information resource for both residents and visitors to the area.

Another successful project is the development of a Southam Area Visitor Guide leaflet to be distributed to Tourism outlets in the wider region.  The objective of the leaflet is to encourage people from other tourism centres to visit our town and area and see what we have to offer.  SOUTHAM AREA VISITOR GUIDE & MAP

The STAP group are all volunteers and they draw on the skills of many local people: web-editors, photographers, historians, copy-writers, and those with marketing and promotional experience.  Anyone with an interest in promoting Southam and its immediate area, who is willing to offer their skills to the group should contact us by emailing
