Voluntary Action Stratford-on-Avon District (VASA)

Voluntary Action Stratford-on-Avon District (VASA)
The voice of the voluntary and community sector in Stratford District, also delivering a number of key services to members of the public.

VASA Volunteer Transport Service and Wheel Chair Loan Service (now based in Stratford Upon Avon).

VASA’s Volunteer Transport Service takes people who are without their own transport to medical appointments at hospitals, doctors’ surgeries, dentists’ surgeries and day centres across Stratford District and beyond. The service is available for residents in Stratford District and regularly takes people to the hospitals in Coventry, Birmingham and Oxford, and occasionally as far as London and Liverpool.

The door-to-door service is essential to vulnerable people who otherwise would struggle to keep health care appointments or worse not get to them at all.

The service is available to anyone who has a genuine need for transport. We usually require three days’ notice prior to a journey. We ask for the volunteer driver’s costs to be paid at the rate of 45p per mile and there is a small administration fee per journey.

For more information or to book a journey please telephone VASA’s Stratford office on 01926 817525.

If you would like to offer your services as a volunteer driver, VASA has opportunities across Stratford-on-Avon District, either on a regular or an occasional basis, depending on how much time you have to give. Drivers receive a mileage allowance of 45p for authorised journeys. For more details please contact VASA using the telephone number above.

NB: For information about the Southam Town Council run Volunteer Drivers Service, which is for Southam Residents with a Bus Pass, please telephone the Southam office on 01926 815817
